Week 5 Recap!

Hello, everyone!  For those that have called - please accept my sincere appologies for not getting blog updated before now! :)

Week 5 was an exciting week as each of our remaining contestants did an outstanding job!  The Yarboro Family joined us for a special performance as well.  If you weren't there, you truly missed a great event!

Here's how things played out with our contestants (ranked in order):
  1. Marquis White ("We're Blessed" & "Rain on Us")  Score:  60  / Votes: $676
  2. Megan Doss ("Washed by the Water" & "There will Come a Day") Score: 42  / Votes: $650
  3. Kayla Alverson ("How Great is Our God" & "The Heart of Worship") Score: 37  / Votes: $559
  4. Russell & Sarah Cook ("Abundantly" & "Wonderful, Merciful Savior") Score: 47 / Votes: $407
  5. Lindsey Johnson ("Three Wooden Crosses" & "Temporary Home") Score: 45  / Votes: $357
  6. Tara Stovall ("More" & "What a Friend We Have in Jesus") Score: 44  / Votes: $282
Only the top three were able to make it through to the grand finale, so it meant the end of the road in the competition for Russell, Sarah, Lindsey and Tara.  You each should hold your head high and be proud of your progress!

Plan to join us next week (September 15 @ 7PM) for the Grand Finale!!

  1. I love this contest I am only concerned with the message it send to the singers. Some great singers were sent home because they didn't raise as much money as the ones that didn't sing as well. So in other words this contest can be bought. You could get up there and sound like a dying cat and put $1000 in your box and make it to the next week. Its not fair to the ones who poor the hearts out into a song and blow the audience away and get sent home for money. It should be more toward their talent than their fund raising abilities. Brandon, Lyndsey, and The Cooks were far better than what's left in the contest. But they didn't raise money.
